International Exchanges at Students Level

PublishDate:2019-04-24

UIBE Law School has long-standing relationships with reputable U.S. Law schools including Columbia University Law School, Duke University Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, Law School of the University of Wisconsin and the Law School of the University of Connecticut.  In recent years, due to the expansion of the National Government Study Abroad Scholarship, UIBE Law School has witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of our postgraduates receiving such financial support to visit prestigious law schools in the United States and Europe for a year or a semester. This has greatly broadened the students’ international vision, laying a solid foundation for our cultivation of internationalized high-quality legal talents. At the same time, our student exchange programs have grown rapidly, reaching a peak in 2012-2015.  To date, UIBE Law School has signed cooperation and exchange agreements with U.S. counterparts including Temple University Law School, Tulane University Law School and the School of Law of the University of Connecticut. We also have counterparts in the Middle East and Europe, namely Bar-IIan University Law School and Hebrew University Law School in Israel, Bologna University Law School and Palermo University Law School in Italy, as well as the School of Law of Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Spain. Under these cooperation agreements, short-term student exchange programs offering mutual recognition of credits and mutual exemption of tuition have been very successful. UIBE Law School has so far sent nearly 30 exchange students abroad and received 20 overseas students.  We are currently negotiating further cooperative arrangements with top foreign law schools, striving to expand overseas exchange channels for our students.
