WANG Jun


 

Professor Wang Jun is a nationally recognized expert in contracts, torts, international economic law, comparative law and legal education who was invited by China government to provide legislative proposals on Contract Law (1995), Labor Contract Law (2006), Road Traffic Safety Law (2006) and Tort Liability Law (2006-2010).

Professor Wang was appointed as the dean (2009-2014) and the vice-dean (1996-2009) of University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) School of Law and now is the director of Institute of International Trade and Finance Law of UIBE. Professor Wang is the Prestigious Professor (Second-Grade Professor of Social Science) of UIBE who has taught at UIBE School of Law since 1986, where his course offerings have included Comparative Contract Law, Comparative Tort Law, International Business Law, and Legal History of Western Nations. Moreover, Professor Wang has been a pioneer in transplanting US case-law approach to China legal education since 1990s and sparing no efforts in spreading case-law approach in other law schools.

In addition to teaching at UIBE for nearly 30 years, Professor Wang is an active participant in international legal community. He was the Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University School of Law (2004-2005) and held visiting professorships at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles (1991-1992) and Macau University of Science and Technology School of Law (2014). He can apply fluent English to offer courses to foreign students and make speeches in dozens of international conferences in and out of China. Furthermore, Professor Wang is one of the seven members of the Advisory Board of Uniform Law Review which is the academic journal of The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT).

As the legal expert and educator with higher reputation, Professor Wang’s writing includes 52 articles and 19 books on contracts, torts, international economic law, comparative law and legal education, which are widely cited by other scholars. Some of his textbooks, such as Tort Law of the United States, Contract Law of the United States, and International Business Law, are extraordinarily popular among students, and have achieved several national book awards. Professor Wang also is the editor-in-chief of International Business Law Review and Year Book of WTO Dispute Settlement.
