Master’s Program

 

Program Period: 2 years

Major: International Legal Studies (International Economic & Business Law)

Target Applicants: International undergraduates having a good command of English (speaking, reading and writing ability), and who have passed the UIBE’s application process.

Teaching Language: English

Credit Requirement: 24 credits in total

Degree Requirement: Students who have fulfilled the credit requirements, completed a dissertation of 8,000-10,000 words in English and successfully defended their thesis will be awarded the international master’s degree of law.

 

 

 

Ph. D. Program

 

Program Period: 4 years

Major: International Legal Studies (International Economic & Business Law)

Target Applicants: International graduates with a master’s degree, having a good command of English (speaking, reading and writing ability) and who have passed UIBE’s application process.

Teaching Language: English

Credit Requirement: 24 credits in total

Other Requirements:

Academic activities such as: Assisting Ph.D. supervisors in legal research, internship/externship, independent legal research project or other similar academic activities approved by the law school administration.

Degree Requirement: Students who have fulfilled the credit requirements, completed a dissertation of no less than 80,000 words and successfully defended their thesis will be awarded the Ph.D. degree in law.

The philosophy of the core curriculum rests on the conviction that every UIBE Law School graduate should be broadly educated with general legal knowledge, as well as trained in a particular legal specialty or concentration.

Our curriculum consists of two parts: (1) a comprehensive study of the Chinese law and extensive comparative study in the law of other jurisdictions (e.g., U.S., EU, etc…); (2) additional comprehensive study of international law (especially relating to international economic and business law), with emphasis on current and forefront global legal issues.
